In Severe Clear, 2019, radiant, blue color fields meet to suggest a horizon. In the tradition of questioning what constitutes a photograph, and what constitutes a camera, Severe Clear, 2019 is a trompe-l’oeil digital luminogram created with a single gesture of colored light onto an exposed, lensless sensor. The unimpeded horizon is often considered a source of serenity as it provides a clear view of incoming threats (preferrably a lack thereof.)
